While the popularity of GEM electric vehicles continues to grow here at the electric forum, our members have been building a list of GEM NEV error codes since 2010. This list of codes includes many which are not in the official manual and has been priceless for thousands of GEM NEV owners who have experienced issues along way. In many ways this continuing list, which is still being updated today, perfectly illustrates the value of forums where information can be exchanged and made available to the masses. If you have any issues with your GEM NEV which are proving difficult to fix there is assistance to hand. As well as the growing list of GEM error codes we have a number of members with expertise in the area of electric vehicles and specifically GEM NEVs. If any issues which you are experiencing have not already been published and solved on the forum please feel free to join and post your issues.
The growing popularity of neighbourhood electric vehicles
It is not difficult to see why neighbourhood electric vehicles are growing in popularity because they are easy to use, highly efficient, and perfect for those travelling relatively short distances. As we have touched on in some of our earlier articles, in many ways neighbourhood electric vehicles have flown under the radar because there is no doubt they are a major success for the electric vehicle industry.
Historically, there has been some confusion with regards to road use regulations which in the US in particular seem to differ from state to state. However, over time we have seen the coming together of basic criteria which has been of great assistance to neighbourhood electric vehicle manufacturers.
What is the public perception of neighbourhood electric vehicles?
We would hazard a guess if you were to ask 10 people about their perception of neighbourhood electric vehicles you get an array of different answers. The truth is that there are now neighbourhood electric vehicles in our everyday life, from public use to state authorities, as well as college campuses and large corporates. The stereotypical image of neighbourhood electric vehicles in the U.S. and around the world is changing.
Over the last few years we have built up our own presence in the neighbourhood electric vehicle market with a particular emphasis on GEM NEVs. Historically, the U.S. has been the larger GEM NEV market but there is growing interest in countries such as the UK and other parts of the world. In many ways this is the traditional route to market - the U.S. seems to lead while the rest follow.
As we touched on above, members of the electric form have been building their own GEM error code list since 2010. This list even contains an array of codes which are not even mentioned in the official manual, giving you a better insight into how your vehicle works and any issues you may have. If you have found a new error code, or perhaps you have an issue which needs to be resolved, we strongly recommend you check out our GEM error code thread.
